Spanners With Manners (previously known as Laura & Arpy's Autocare) based in Friern Barnet, is London's FIRST ALL-FEMALE garage.

 

THE TEAM

 

We are Laura Kennedy, co-founder and Head Mechanic, Arpy Luther, co-founder and Manager, Megan Richardson-Kulcsar, Apprentice.

 

WHY AN ALL FEMALE GARAGE?

 

Women drivers often feel patronised or ripped off by many traditional male garages, so we set up Spanners With Manners to give primarily (but not exclusively) female customers a trustworthy, safe service. Our aim is to revolutionise your garage experience.

 

We provide Diagnostics, MOT, Servicing, Insurance work and general repairs using state-of-the-art equipment, including dealer standard computer diagnostic tools. We have the technical software to diagnose and reprogram all types of cars.

 

Laura

 

Laura trained at Porsche 16 years ago, where she worked as an Apprentice for 3 years. Since then she has had thirteen more years of experience, including four years as Master Technician and MOT Tester at Totteridge Cars.  

 

A fully qualified mechanic, who treats every car with respect, Laura has a proven track record of giving customers a first-class service.

 

After many years of working for others in a 100% male working environment, in 2017 Laura was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to start her own business. She spoke to her friend of eight years, Arpy, about a joint venture, and a few weeks later Spanners With Manners was born.

 

Arpy

 

Arpy has many years experience working as a Business Consultant, runs her own Property Maintenance Company in North London, N10 Tradespeople, which has been a great success. She has a pool of vetted tradespeople that work for her, and all jobs are completed to a very high standard.

 

Laura and Arpy's aim is for their first apprentice, Megan, to be their Area Manager within five years, while training many more female mechanics along the way.

 

Megan

 

Megan is studying Level 2 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship at North London Garages. Megan is extremely enthusiastic, hard working and has a natural affinity for motor mechanics.
